I went to medical school at a private college and my student loans were immense.  I had multiple loans that totaled over one hundred thousand dollars.  Thats the cost of medical school there is not much you can do about it.  After I got out of school I was able to get a job at a great hospital and it was a lot of hours but very rewarding work.  A few years after I felt some stability in my job I decide to see if I could find away to lower my loan payments.  I was getting by but I wanted to buy a home and lowering my payment was they way I planned to afford the extra money needed for my monthly home payment.  I did a Direct Loan Consolidation with all my health profession loans.  I was able to lower my payments and get a lower rate at the same time.  I could not be happier as I was able to put the down payment on my dream house.
