How Hunting Dogs Differ from Typical Dogs

March 31st, 2009 . by admin

Hunting dogs are naturally different from most dogs because they are specifically bred to be useful on the hunt.  On the hunt, they are most often used to fetch fallen game and return it to the hunter.  Hunters rely on these dogs so much that they often treat them as equal partners and are careful to look after their needs and necessities.  Breeds of hunting dogs are much stronger, faster, and more agile that most dogs.  They have superior abilities to sense stimuli and are alert and attentive to the world around them.  Not all breeds of dogs have these characteristics, so it is important to select a dog that has been bred for the hunt.
